My Mission

Mind To Movement is here for you. I understand the busy demands of day-to-day life and know how challenging it can be to find space for self-care. Mind-Movement sessions focus on both your mental and physical state, through this, supporting your whole being, as a way of improving your wellbeing. My support is based on the premise, that you are the expert in knowing yourself; I’m simply here to guide you in the process.

My Story

I’m Melissa, a qualified Yoga Teacher and Cognitive & Behavioural Psychotherapist. I work part time for the NHS delivering Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), as well as running my own practice incorporating CBT and Yoga Therapy. I began my journey as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner in 2018, working in mental health services in Bristol, specialising working with children and young adults. More recently, in the last year I have completed training in CBT working with adults within the NHS.

I connected to yoga at a time I was feeling burnout through my work; it was impacting my mental and physical health.Since then, yoga has been deeply healing for me, through building my own resilience and providing self-care in my life. I wanted to include my love of yoga through my work, in 2020 I qualified as a yoga teacher, followed by further training in Yoga Therapy. I am passionate about sharing this and supporting you to feel empowered in your life. I believe there is a real need for mindfulness-based practices that allow you to develop self-care, self-compassion and self-love.

Mind-Body Connection

Getting you out of your head and into your body

It has been scientifically proven that we often hold emotional trauma and stress in our bodies, manifesting as physical aliments, tension and pain. A Mind-Movement one-to-one session will work with both your body and mind to improve your overall wellbeing. Simply by becoming aware of your body; dropping your shoulders, relaxing your jaw and taking a few deep mindful breaths you can ease tension in just a few moments.

Client Reviews

"I’m managing to deal with everything well after our sessions, implementing all the techniques into everyday life which is great and I’m so grateful for all your help. It really has made a huge difference"

"The benefits were overwhelmingly more of an understanding of myself and learning about how mental health isn’t something to be ‘fixed’ but a continuous process. I now feel more equipped and empowered to look after my mental health. This gives me confidence."

"I've started to put these experiences into the past, & feeling strong enough to cope on my own. The true support & compassion I felt from you despite our sessions being virtual. Early on you were willing to accommodate extra help. Finally, I’d like to thank you again for your patience, calmness & kindness throughout. I know I was fortunate to find you"
